About Dontae Andrews

Served as an educator with DeKalb County School District for a total of 16 years.  Currently serving as a third year principal at Avondale Elementary.  Worked as an Assistant Principal for nine years and a third grade and fifth grade teacher for five years. Expertise includes working in Title 1 schools, organizing and developing community and stakeholder engagement, managing a diversified staff of more than 75 employees, establishing and maintaining effective school culture, implementing and monitoring best teaching strategies, understanding state curriculum and developing collaborative planning teams, facilitating staff development, managing a continuous school improvement process, developing and managing school processes, and supervising organizational management.
